It is with much enthusiasm and excitement that I welcome you to the website of the Lake Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Since our chapter’s chartering on January 20, 1996, the Lake Shore Chapter has proudly served the communities on the West Side of Chicago. Our membership is comprised of many accomplished women who exemplify the characteristics of friendship and service embodied by the dynamic founders of the Links, Incorporated in 1946. In 2018, the Lake Shore Chapter continues to carry forward the ideals of our great organization.

The Lake Shore Chapter has a proud heritage of 22 years of service. Through our Integrated Program which include the Links Incorporated facets: National Trends and Services, Services to Youth and Health and Human Services we have developed a program entitled, Linking Families to A Healthy Body, Mind and Practices” it is designed to deter childhood obesity by addressing unhealthy lifestyles by focusing on healthy eating and active lifestyles.

Furthermore, we have actively participated in the Links National Signature Arts Program: Classics Through the Ages and sponsored aspiring dancers to teach free ballet classes to children ages 5 to 12, instilling the arts in current and future generations. Through the excellent teaching of our Signature Arts instructors our students have improved in self-confidence, discipline, attendance, performance and social skills.

Finally, the Lake Shore Chapter also continues to provide community service through the Links, Incorporated's International Trends & Services Facet.  Under this facet, we have developed our Pebble program, at George Westinghouse College Prep, designed to expose students to Haitian culture, history, the impact their country had on American history and to promote an interest in International careers.

This website provides noteworthy information that highlights the significance of the Lake Shore Chapter, including our rich history, community service and many activities. Please feel free to browse the public event section for open activities that you may wish to attend. Also, please check out our social media platforms for upcoming events and recaps. We greatly value and appreciate your support in helping us to make a profound impact in the community that we serve. Our organization is anchored in friendship and service.

Again, thank you so much for visiting our website and for your interest in the Lake Shore Chapter (IL) of the Links, Incorporated. We hope that you visit our site frequently to see the many great things that we are doing to provide services to the West Side of Chicago.
